Title: A simulation program for the assessment of plants availability

Abstract: To define the contractual guarantees and to evaluate the projects economical risk, in the last years the analysis of the reliability / availability performance is moving toward the overall plant assessment rather than single unit / system (e.g. firefighting, control system, etc.) evaluation. To this purpose a framework of analysis consisting of plant functional / reliability analysis (FMEA), storage and elaboration of the gained information by means of relational data base and Monte Carlo simulation of the plant availability has been developed.
